Landscapes
I am not one to shoot many landscapes. Though there are some that have added meaning in my lexicon. A few years ago I shot a panorama of an apple orchard. Some one commented that this was very different from my work. Yes, its a wonderful shot of a panoramic landscape and well stiched. Pastoral and very Gainsborough like. However, it was also a place of food production, manufacturing if you will. Though not abandoned, it only saw human activity sporadically unlike other manufacturing facilities, and its real purpose easily forgot. In that respect it is not that different from my other work.
Other landscapes I capture are also similar to my other work. There is a connection in all my work of a certain sensibility, or in the visual arts and photography they speak of the individual’s eye. There is an abstract quality and this can be seen, and is especially apparent in my landscape work.
